The Food

Definitely on the top of the list for most clients!

At Michael George Events, we work to follow three main guidelines in our approach to food.

Our prime objective in our food is balance of flavors.  Michael strives to have all four of the sensory tastes in his food; sweet, sour, salt and bitter coming into balance and just hitting that perfect note to form Umami, the fifth taste.

It’s very subtle and MGE believes that if you do it right, you don’t even realize the elements; you just think the food is great.

2.
Food that
makes you
Feel Good

Secondly, but just as important, Michael wants everyone to feel good after eating his food.  We do this by focusing on the first objective rather than adding butter and melted cheese to make something taste good.  Not that there is anything wrong with a little butter and cheese, everything in moderation, but these are shortcuts to flavor that MGE does not take.

Our final objective is to make everything look and smell great.  Our photographs speak for themselves, but a dish’s smell is just as important as its looks, and this aspect of presentation often gets overlooked by other caterers.

You’ll find herbs added to many of our items, sometimes where you wouldn’t expect them; coffee beans lining our dessert platters; and lavender in our chocolate sauce, all for your olfactory stimulation.
